To an adult, moving is stressful, chaotic, disorganized, and frustrating. Our moving truck was delayed in delivering our items, and from the moment that it finally arrived we've been slicing open cardboard lids, moving things from room to room, sifting and sorting through boxes that we packed over three years ago before we left for Bolivia, and trying to solve whatever has become the moving mystery of the moment (i.e. Have you seen any cereal bowls? Didn't we used to have forks?)
However, to a kid moving can be fun! Opening a box is like opening a present. Some of the boxes have toys hidden inside and you can play with them in a new environment. There are new closets and cabinets to explore, and since we don't have much furniture yet, there is plenty of room on the floor to play!
It's all a matter of perspective. Adults may be more efficient at the task of moving into a house, but kids sure do have a lot more fun with the process!
