Claire was a 10 year 4-H member growing up and has an appreciation for the local county fair and the amount of time, effort, and fun that goes into the event. It was a real joy to be able to share the excitement of the fair with Noelia and Micah this year! Noelia was a bit intimidated by the larger animals, such as the cows and horses. Micah, however, wanted to pet every animal and I think he would have been happy to jump in the goat pen and play around! Bunnies were a big favorite with both kids. We walked around the fairgrounds with Claire's extended family, enjoying the animal exhibits, the blue-ribbon winning projects, and of course, special treats that we wait for all year long, including warm, freshly baked White County Fair Cookies. This year, Claire got to share the cookie tradition for the first time with Noelia, who is quite the cookie monster!
Even though we did not plan to be in the U.S. right now and wanted our time in Bolivia to continue, we thank God for the gift of an American summer.
