FIRST (REAL) HAIRCUT!

Micah's first haircut was technically at 2.5 weeks old. He was in a NICU in Bolivia struggling to survive and his veins were collapsing. The nurses needed to shave his head in order to look for a vein in his scalp to place an IV line.

His second haircut was at a children's hospital while getting prepped for brain surgery to place a shunt. Recognizing the sentimental importance of a first haircut, the pediatric neurosurgeon surprised us after the successful surgery by handing us a small lock of Micah's wispy blonde hair in a tiny sterile bag.

So, today we mark his OFFICIAL first haircut, the one that was not done in an emergency situation, the one from Mommy and not from a medical professional!
